Orano has a diversified portfolio of assets and resources, both in terms of geography and extraction technology. The uranium production sites are located in three countries: Canada, Niger and Kazakhstan. Orano Mining conducts its activities responsibly, following the best international principles and standards. Beyond mining, Orano conducts exploration and development projects in uranium bearing zones, such as Central Asia and Canada while also undertaking remediation and re-development of former mines making it a part of its expertise.

Orano is one of the world’s leading producers of uranium with more than 60 years of experience operating across different stages of the mining cycle (with successful mine closure examples in its portfolio), variety of geographies and technologies (from open pit mine to the non-traditional mining methods like in-situ recovery).
Orano Mining has been a member of the International Council of Mining and Metals since 2011, building a solid CSR approach to run its operations.
