Analysis: Characterization of solution and organic waste
A complete laboratory, state of the art equipment, an efficient and competent team to perform all your analysis.
-
The characterization of organic waste presents many difficulties, particularly related to the variability of matrices and chemical compositions of samples. Chemical preparations must be adapted according to the nature of the samples, the elements to be analysed and the associated risks. As a result, our laboratory is able to adapt its processing methodology according to the type of samples.
With 40 years of experience in analytical development for internal and external needs, our laboratory is able to adapt to meet a specific customer need. Today, the usual organic matrices are routinely analyzed. Particular importance is attached to the prior preparation of these samples. This mineralization or digestion step plays a key role in determining the elemental or isotopic composition.
The laboratory is equipped with microwaves with oxygen combustion if necessary, an automatic melting system, a mineralization block for complex chemical etching or a furnace for extraction of halogenated elements (pyrohydrolysis). The samples are then analyzed by ICP-AES or MS, A.A.Flame or A.A Four, ion or gas chromatography, alpha or gamma spectrometry, elemental analyzer (C/S), potentiometry, U.V. spectrometry, I.R. spectrometry,...
In addition, the laboratory is able to carry out standardised leaching tests and all the analyses requested by the authorities.
- Elemental and isotopic characterization
- Management of all types of organic waste
- Response to specific customer needs
- Experimental laboratory for the analysis of organic matrix samples
- Characterization according to ANDRA / SOCODEI specifications
The CIME laboratory has been accredited by COFRAC (the detailed scope is available on the website www.cofrac.fr N°1-5873) since 1996 and is recognized in the Orano group for its expertise.
The laboratory is approved by the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) for environmental radioactivity measurements on about thirty approvals.
The analysis laboratory is an integral part of Orano MINING's R&D center and is subject to the daily development of methods for the needs of the department. Organic solvents are matrices that are routinely analyzed in the laboratory.
The laboratory carries out characterizations of radioactive and non-radioactive organic waste (oils and solvents) for the Orano group.
- The laboratory adapts to all customer requests and has the necessary authorizations to receive radioactive samples.
- The teams are able to develop specific analytical methods and quickly implement protocols for the analysis of large quantities of samples.
- The laboratory regularly carries out waste characterizations in accordance with ANDRA and SOCODEI specifications.
